Multisol are a global chemicals company with operations in the UK, France, Spain, South Africa and the middle East.
The new site has filling facilities for IBCs and drums.
Chris Haynes, managing director of GreenChem UK, said: “We are working with our supplier Multisol to create a network of production plants, giving a good spread of distribution opportunities throughout the country.”
In addition to the Irlam facility, which is operated by Multisol, the company has a second plant in Peterlee, County Durham, and plans to operate from a further two plants by the end of 2008.
GreenChem is now producing AdBlue from a plant in Irlam, Manchester, tripling its UK output by potentially creating 30 - 40 million litres of the urea-based fuel a year.
